Students take part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge

CATS Cambridge once again entered students for the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge.

The Intermediate Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice Challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.

The Results

Our students did extremely well, scoring in Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards. Our Gold Award Winners, Ruiheng and Liangyu go on to take part in the Pink Kangaroo on the 16th March; another 60-minute, multiple-choice challenge consisting of 25 problems.

Students that received awards:

  • Banchachan
  • Manuela
  • King
  • Ei Hnin

  • Su Myat
  • Hyeonho
  • Yaretzi

  • Liangyu
  • Ruiheng
We run over 20 different activities each week – from sports clubs to academic and self-development activities, all of which look great on a university application. Every student has different goals and we work with each individual to help them find activities they enjoy.
