Senior Deputy Heads Introduction
Welcome to CATS Cambridge. We are a unique school with a wonderfully diverse staff and student body. Our belief, based on years of educational experience, is that excellent pastoral care underpins excellent outcomes for students. We need to prepare students for their life journeys. To do that, we promote mutual respect, hard work, creativity, honesty, and resilience as values that are integral to readying students for university and beyond. It is important to us that students have a voice within the school, and we listen to them through regular meetings with the Senior Leadership Team, School Leadership Teams (student body and Houses), and an active School Council.
Dr Helen Barsham (Senior Deputy Head – Interim)
Our students are coming of age in a world of constant change, but one that still requires deep subject knowledge, sound judgement, curiosity, ethical seriousness, and a sense of what it means to flourish as a human being while also having fun. We want our students to leave us not only ready for the world’s leading universities and their chosen careers, but also able to think clearly across traditions, use new tools effectively, and take responsibility for and be accountable for the societies, organisations, and lives they will help to shape. Cambridge is the right context for this work, and CATS Cambridge is the right place to support students in making a real difference.
Dr Nicholas Dennis (Senior Deputy Head – Interim)
We offer individually tailored educational programmes of study that ensure academic success remains at the heart of the school. CATS Cambridge graduates go on to some of the best universities in the UK and around the world.
Please note that the team at CATS Cambridge goes above and beyond. Staff are relentless in their support of students, whether through additional nurture in the boarding environment or extensive academic intervention and support.
