CATS Cambridge Graduation 2024

CATS Cambridge Graduation 2024 brought together our Class of 2024 with their teachers, family and friends to celebrate their achievements and progress during their studies. Held in nearby St Andrew’s Church, our graduating A Level, UFP and GCSE classes participated in this annual tradition, which includes speeches, performances and a prize-giving ceremony.

Graduation proceedings began with a welcome address from Assistant Principal, Rebecca Baker-Milne, followed by the prize-giving ceremony. At CATS Cambridge graduation, academic and community achievements are celebrated. Students are awarded prizes for their positive contributions to boarding life, sports and to their houses. Lions, Tigers, Panthers and Leopards cheered loudly as they celebrated their friends.

Academic prizes recognise student achievement and progress. Prizes were awarded in all subject areas to A Level, UFP and GCSE students. From our award-winning Art department to our top student scientists, mathematicians and soon-to-be engineers via our Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages departments, student achievement was highlighted and celebrated. Our hard-working Class of 2024 have pursued their talents and passions across multiple disciplines, supported by our teaching team to achieve excellence.

Here is a selection of our favourite photos from the CATS Cambridge graduation ceremony.

Valedictorian, Saad (pictured right), delivered a touching speech on the Class of 2024’s journey from their home countries to CATS Cambridge and now onto top UK and global universities. He thanked the teachers for equipping the student body with the knowledge and skills to be successful in the future; and he thanked every family for their support, describing them as “pillars of strength” who inspired and motivated their student strive for excellence. Saad celebrated the “shared tapestry of experiences” and memories from their studies in Cambridge that students will carry forward in their lives. He highlighted the unique diversity of the CATS Cambridge student community, which includes students from around the world, each with a unique story and journey.

Saad ended his speech by reflecting on the key lessons offered at CATS Cambridge: the importance of perseverance, curiosity and collaboration. These are not subject based lessons, but rather characteristics and skills that support successful academic studies now and career success in the future. He encouraged his audience to use these lessons in their next steps, to continue to be curious about the world, to persevere in the face of challenges and to seek out collaboration with others.

Dominic Tomalin, Principal, echoed Saad’s words, encouraging the Class of 2024 to embody the CATS Cambridge values of curiosity, innovation and excellence in their next steps. He also offered some sage advice to our graduates. He advised them to openly observe the world, to strive to be their best self and to be good company as they move through the world.

As we wave goodbye 2023 cohort as we know their futures are bright. CATS Cambridge’s enhanced package of university application support helped many of our students land a place at their dream university.
