G5 A-Level Facts

G5 A-Level Overview

The G5 A-Level Programme is designed for students who plan to access the best universities in the world. G5 refers to the 5 best universities in the UK in the QS World University Rankings.

Places at these universities require students to achieve at least A*AA to A*A*A. For English a condition of IELTS 7.0-7.5 is common, and there is likely to be a need to perform at the highest level on additional admissions tests, and at interview.

This programme includes wrap around support to achieve these grades, meet any other requirements, and to engage in the supra and extra-curricular activities that make the students application as competitive as is possible.

We have carefully researched the best subjects on which our students should focus to maximise their chances of progressing to these universities. All the students on this programme will study Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Economics at A-Level, and a suitable course of study in English as a second language. Further Mathematics is seen as a very desirable addition for many of the subjects that these students will be targeting for their undergraduate studies.

Whilst there will be a great emphasis on academic excellence, to make a truly competitive application to the top universities, the students will need to demonstrate that they have developed the skills, attitudes and habits that will enable them to thrive at an undergraduate level and beyond. A significant amount can be done to promote the development of those skills, habits and attitudes in the classroom and the laboratory, however, these students will also be encouraged to proactively engage with supra and extra-curricular activities that facilitate their personal development so that they are best placed to win a place at a top university, and succeed when they get there.
